Permanent teeth in a day

Using dental implants and the most innovative restorative techniques our Implant Dentists can work together with our Clinical Dental Technicians to provide implant assisted solutions that help patients troubled by loose dentures, failing crowns and bridges along with loose teeth that need extracting.

This close working relationship means we are able to provide you with an entire arch of permanent teeth, with a bite comparable to natural teeth, whilst creating a naturally beautiful smile in just one day!

This concept is commonly known by the following names:

All-on-4™

Teeth in a day

Same day teeth

Same day smile

You may be suitable for treatment if you:

  • Have loose dentures that affect your quality of life
  • Have severe periodontal gum disease and tooth loss
  • Have suffered loss of jawbone due to the loss of your teeth
  • Have failing crowns and bridges along with loose teeth that need extracting

The science behind the smile

This technique was developed to provide patients who had experienced total tooth loss with an efficient treatment concept using only four dental implants to support a full arch of fixed teeth. Two dental implants are placed vertically in the front of the jawbone with the remaining two dental implants placed at the back of the jaw, tilted up to 45°, which means less bone is needed.

Traditional fixed full arch dental implant techniques require 6-10 implants with a period of healing time where the bridge cannot be fixed to the implants. Extensive bone grafting for implant placement may also be required.

With this technique, the bone to implant contact is optimised and the need for any bone grafting is minimised. Also the angled implants can be anchored in much better quality bone found in the front of your jawbone. This reduces the number of dental implants required to restore an entire arch of teeth and enables us to permanently fix an arch of Changing Faces® denture components to dental implants on the same day of implant placement. Tilting the implants also helps the Implant Dentist avoid vital structures such as the sinuses and nerves.

The configuration and position of the implants along the jawbone once braced together with a Titanium framework, helps to spread the forces transmitted from the teeth to the jawbone also allowing for better distribution of biting forces from a full arch of replacement teeth.

  • There is no need to remove a denture after meals or at nighttime. The full arch of teeth can be cared for and cleaned just like natural teeth
  • The full arch of teeth fits the natural contours of your mouth and feels like a full set of natural teeth
  • No compromise on taste as the full arch of upper teeth does not cover the roof of your mouth
  • Your bite force is greatly increased so you can enjoy the foods you previously could not
  • Choose from a wider choice of food with a more varied diet for healthier living
  • Promotes a healthy jawbone by preventing further bone loss
  • The treatment is considered long term and can last for decades or a lifetime if cared for properly
  • The entire procedure can be completed in just one day with an immediate loading concept that avoids multiple procedures

By use of this advanced technique our implant teams have learnt to utilise biomechanical principles and traditional engineering sciences to fully restore the lost structures and functions of rows of natural teeth. At Changing Faces® we believe that dental implants and the fixed bridge of denture components act as one functioning masticatory system.

As well as restoring the smile, your Changing Faces® fixed arches of teeth also offer a dual effect by correcting the proportions of the face adding volume so you will achieve a more natural, youthful look. The look of a Changing Faces® smile will be influenced by your gender, personality and age, an innovative approach only offered by Changing Faces® called Denture Genics®.

What does the procedure involve?

  1. First you attend a consultation to meet the Changing Faces® Same day teeth team where you can discuss your suitability for treatment with an Implant Dentist and ask any questions that you may have about treatment.
  2. Following this you will undergo a CT scan, imaging and diagnostics so that the Implant Dentist can prepare a digital 3D treatment plan of your procedure, which ensures highly accurate, safe and predictable implant placement. You will also have the opportunity to discuss the look of your new teeth, utilising the Changing Faces Denture Genics® concept.
  3. If you are a candidate for permanent teeth then a detailed treatment plan will be provided. You will attend your first appointment where an Implant Dentist according to the fixed teeth protocols prepares the implant site and if required they will extract your teeth. Four dental implants are inserted with the implants at the back of your jawbone placed at an angle.
  4. A provisional Changing Faces® denture will then be finalised and secured to the dental implants by the Implant Dentist. After which you will be given time to rest in a relaxation area. Within a few hours you will be able to go home with a new smile and get on with your everyday life*.

After approximately three to six months once your implants are fully integrated into your jaw, your final fixed bridge of Changing Faces® teeth will be fitted by the Implant Dentist.

*Patients will be required to attend pre and post-operative consultations and reviews

All-on-4™ is a registered trademark of Nobel Biocare AG

The All-on-4™ technique was first pioneered in Portugal by dentist Paulo Malo and it was the original system developed to allow the placement of dental implants secured to a full arch of teeth in a day. The All-on-4™ technique as its name implies involves the use of only 4 dental implants to secure a full arch of teeth. Some of our implant dentists have experience with the Nobel Biocare All-on-4™ dental implant system and also variations of this system utilising other leading dental implant manufacturers.
