Dental Precision, a private dental laboratory based in Cornwall and also the home of Changing Faces Denture Clinic Cornwall, won the prestigious title of ‘Elite Dental Laboratory’ in large laboratory category at the Elite Practice Awards on the 2nd March 2012.
Shortlist
The initial entry called for details of how the laboratory demonstrated excellence within the areas of; premises, staff, work processes, investment in the future, client support and marketing. Dental Precision, who employ a team of 19, specialising in providing highly aesthetic & functional prosthesis to leading dentists across the UK and Ireland – with a particular focus on implant related solutions, was shortlisted down to one of four finalists.
The shortlist was certainly elite; with the other finalists being some of the best known and respected laboratories in the UK.
Award
The award hinged on a 15 minute presentation given at the NEC in front of judges and peers. Managing Director, Martin Docking took the helm and made a heartfelt presentation that focussed upon the human side of the business – the patients who receive the prostheses, the dentists who prescribe and fit the prostheses and the wonderful team at Dental Precision who make the prostheses and supply an outstanding service.
This award followed the success of the laboratory in November 2011 at the Private Dentistry Awards in London which recognises exceptional individuals, teams and practices with an active interest in staying at the top of the dental profession. Dental Precision’s Business Development Manager Samantha Webber won the award for the ‘Most Outstanding Individual of the year’ and the laboratory were runners-up in the ‘Best Dental Laboratory – South’ category.
Dental Precision was created in 1995 by Martin Docking who has recently completed a 3 year diploma in Clinical Dental Technology with the Royal College of Surgeons qualifying him to consult with and treat denture patients.
